Red Lake Middle School E-Learning Days

In the past, when the weather was unsafe for students to attend school, the district would call a snow dayOften, students and staff would then be required to make up unplanned snow daysNow, rather than making up these days at the end of the year (when the weather is nice), we can count these days as E-Learning Days.

The staff have created choice boards for the five days we can claim as E-Learning Days.  They have been sent home with your students.

Home Learning Directions for Families/Caregivers:

  • Complete one activity from each column on the board per E-Learning DayEach board has several activities to choose from. Circle the activities completed and have the caregiver/parent sign the bottom of the form.

  • Return one sheet for each E-Learning Day with a parent/caregiver signature to be marked present for attendance on that date. Students: please return the sheet to your teacher within 2 days of the E-Learning Day to be marked present for that date.

  • Teachers will offer three online opportunities during each E-Learning Day for students who wish to participateInformation about how and where to login will be sent to the parent contact directly from the teacher using typical parent/teacher communication methods.

  • Logging into online opportunities is optional but encouragedAttendance will be marked by the teacher if students join onlineIt is recommended that students also complete an activity from each column on these boards in addition to online participation.

  • These boards are only used on days the superintendent designates as E-Learning Days. They are not intended to replace instruction your child misses due to absence/illness on a regularly scheduled school day.

  • These e-learning boards can also be found on your child's school website (to be added soon)

Contacting Your Teachers

  • Students will enter the meeting Teams or Zoom, with the information provided by their teacher through email or Rooms.

  • Teachers will also be available by email or their preferred communication method throughout the day to answer student questions.
