Thoughts with Superintendent Tim Lutz

I am pleased to report that this had been a good week.  While we continue to have issues with certain behaviors, we are also seeing improvements.  I am very grateful for the support of the Red Lake Tribal Council and community members.  We have now held two meetings where great ideas have been shared.  Just last Wednesday, we met for the second time.  Over the course of the two-hour meeting, we learned about tribal programs that can be used to assist the schools in working with students.  We also split into smaller working groups to come up with ideas to help support the schools and students.  After these small-group discussions, we shared our ideas with the larger group.  Many great ideas were exchanged that we will begin to implement in our schools.

During both meetings, we asked people to sign up for timeslots to come into school to have lunch with students, supervise lunch ball in the gyms, and help supervise students in hallways.  We have seen a good number of people showing up to help out during each day of the week, and this had made a big difference in our school!  Next week, we will develop a way for people to sign up on our website if they want to help out in our schools.

I am very grateful for this tremendous support from our community.  Thank you!

Tim Lutz
