Red Lake Secondary Complex was in a brief hold this morning as another hoax call was received. The issue has been cleared and students and staff are safe at school.
Law enforcement received another hoax phone call about a student in the Red Lake Secondary Complex. However, this phone call came in before students were even here (it's late start Monday). RLPD is on site and has investigated the issue. Students and staff are safe. RLPD will maintain a presence in the RLSC today to ensure the safety of all throughout the day.
A SECURE was called this morning at RLSC. All staff and students are safe. The secure was called in response to a report that, once investigated, turned out to be a hoax. Red Lake Law Enforcement responded and worked with school staff to throughly search the entire complex and investigate the report. After connecting with several outside agencies, RLPD determined the call to be a hoax. Students and staff have returned to their regular daily routine.
Join PACER Center's online listening circles for Native Voices in Education. This is open to parents and guardians of Native American students who are receiving special education services, including Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 plans.
E-SPORTS will have their first meeting of the season on Thursday, October 24th after school in the High School Band Room/computer lab. You must be 13 to attend. Games this year; FortNite, MineCraft, Valorant, Rocket League, League of Legends, Smash Bros, Mario Cart and Chess. Secondary Complex Fall Sports Picture Orders - If you want to order sports pictures there are order forms in front of the High School office and in the Middle School office. When order forms are completed they can be dropped off with Kim Johnson (6th grade) or Jody Johnson (High School). The orders will be given to Bob at Image. There is information on the packets about ordering on-line also. Be sure to put your uniform number and team on the order form. It’s going to be another hot and humid day tomorrow, and our classrooms are becoming a bit hot and stuffy. Please be mindful of what your children wear to school tomorrow and encourage them to wear short sleeves and light clothing to help avoid overheating.

On Mondays, students will attend school from 9:50 AM - 3:00 PM and on Tuesdays through Fridays, students will attend from 7:50 AM - 3:00 PM. Student drop-off will remain 9:45 AM on Mondays and 7:45 AM Tuesdays through Fridays. Students will be dismissed to the buses at 3:00 PM, so parent pick-up will be from 3:00 - 3:15 PM at Door #6. All Red Lake Elementary and Secondary students who ride the bus will likely be arriving home 20 - 30 minutes earlier than they have so far this school year.

You may have heard some rumors about possible threats to a school in Red Lake tomorrow (Friday). The threats have been investigated by Red Lake Police and found to be not credible. However, because we value the safety and peace of mind of our students and staff, we will maintain a higher state of awareness tomorrow. You may notice more of a presence of law enforcement in our buildings on Friday. Miigwech!
